From Fifth Avenue to the Vosges Mountains: American jeweler Tiffany & Co. will soon represent half of the pieces produced within the new workshop of French jeweler Orest Group, in which the LVMH group invested last year.

Tiffany & Co. and Vosges craftsmanship

Established since 2021 in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges on a temporary site, Orest Group is solidifying its presence there. Just a few days ago, the jewelry company inaugurated a brand new 2500 m2 manufacturing facility, a strategic move as the company positions itself as one of the main French subcontractors for several major luxury groups and houses.

Among its clients is Tiffany & Co. Fueled by the success of its collections, the New York brand could even account for nearly half of the activity of this new workshop "as early as next year," as indicated to Agence France Presse by Alexandre Arnault, Executive Vice President of Products, Communication, and Manufacturing of the House, present at the inauguration.

In April 2023, LVMH, the world leader in luxury and owner of Tiffany & Co. since 2021, announced a majority stake in the Platinum Invest group, which owns Orest Group. While the details of this transaction have not been disclosed, this consolidation comes as LVMH reported a 7% increase in revenue last year in its Watches and Jewelry business, totaling just under 11 billion euros. In 2023, this division accounted for just over 12.5% of the group's results.

Also based in Erstein, Alsace, Orest Group has a full order book for 2024. In order to support the pace of production in a dynamic jewelry market, the company aims to employ around 300 people in its new manufacturing facility by the end of the year. The workshop has also been designed to support training and recruitment initiatives in various jewelry industry trades. An investment plan to expand the site could also be considered within three years.
