The beauty and craftsmanship of Venice have never ceased to nourish the imagination of the Italian house, which dedicates its new high jewelry collection to it.
It is in this city suspended between sky and lagoon, and more particularly on the island of Burano, that Buccellati draws one of the founding inspirations of its identity.
From the Maison's earliest years, Mario Buccellati was fascinated by Burano's needle lace. He sought to translate into metal the almost immaterial lightness of these works. With Serenissima, this quest continues: the gold leaves become even more airy, thanks to openwork of exceptional virtuosity. Indeed, the master goldsmiths perpetuate skills passed down since the Renaissance, sculpting gold with a hand saw with infinite precision, just as Burano's lacemakers weave their threads together. Thus, each jewel embraces the skin.
"With Serenissima, we wanted to capture the soul of Venice, its magic and its thousand-year history," commented Andrea Buccellati, Honorary President and Creative Director of the Maison. "Each jewel is a fragment of this extraordinary city, a tribute to its light, to the art that has shaped entire eras, and to its incomparable power to inspire wonder. This collection is the fruit of a dialogue between our goldsmithing tradition and the eternal beauty of Venice."
Beyond the artisanal prowess, Serenissima tells a shared story: that of Venice and Buccellati, two expressions of the same Italian art of living, a quiet luxury where excellence is expressed in the details.
