On the occasion of the presentation of its Fall 2024 collection, held last weekend in Los Angeles, the fashion house unveiled its partnership with the New York-based jewelry and watch brand. A first of its kind for Balenciaga.
Two materials for two distinct styles. Simply named "Diamant," the collaboration between Balenciaga and Jacob & Co highlights 18-carat white gold and diamonds, hand-set in this case. On one hand, a Maillon theme that includes a bracelet with large links and a matching necklace bearing the double B logo, as seen during the fashion show on singer Cardi B. Four pieces, designed in limited edition, are defined by a shared homage to 'opulence made in the USA,' as Demna, artistic director of Balenciaga, has reportedly chosen Jacob & Co 'because it is not a traditional jeweler,' explains the House in a statement of intent.
Following the show, Balenciaga immediately opened the order process for these exceptional pieces at a single location, in a preview: its Women's boutique on Rodeo Drive, in the Beverly Hills district. A strategic choice in a drive-to-store fashion, considering the store opened its doors last September, with the House transforming its previous address on the same street into a space entirely dedicated to its men's collections
