Louis Vuitton launches a luxury bag... made of chocolate

Journal du luxe

2 March 2026

For Easter 2026, the fashion house is extending its leather goods expertise to the realm of haute chocolate with an exclusive collection created by Pastry Chef Maxime Frédéric. This gastronomic creation also celebrates the 130th anniversary of the Louis Vuitton Monogram.

A pastry reinterpretation of the 2019 Egg bag
Its ovoid design made a name for itself on the catwalks during the Spring-Summer 2019 show. Conceived by Nicolas Ghesquière , artistic director of Louis Vuitton's women's collections, the Egg bag is being presented this year in a new light with the release of an unprecedented "Chocolate Egg Bag" .

After a first version presented last year, this 2026 iteration is distinguished by a two-tone aesthetic that meticulously reproduces the codes of its leather goods alter ego: zipper pull, handles in white chocolate tinted yellow, detail of visible stitching…

This dark chocolate bag also pays homage, in its own way, to the Monogram motif , the celebration of whose 130th anniversary is this year one of the common threads of Louis Vuitton 's global activations .

In terms of taste, the outer shell is decorated with roasted dried fruits, candied fruits, and hazelnut praline. Inside the bag is a milk chocolate bar with a hazelnut praline and lemon caramel center.

Beyond this gourmet it bag , Louis Vuitton's Easter 2026 collection includes complementary variations such as a box of six miniature Egg bags and a trio of chicks with assorted flavors.

The Louis Vuitton lifestyle at LV Dream
This launch confirms the key role of holidays as highlights in the food diversification calendar for luxury brands. Easter creations, but also Christmas logs, galette des rois, mooncakes … by appropriating these gastronomic events, major brands ensure a continuous presence in their customers' daily lives, transforming a perishable product into a marker of prestige and lifestyle experience.

These new creations will be available from March 13th at the Maxime Frédéric at Louis Vuitton chocolate shop , located on the upper floor of the LV Dream space in Paris. Opened in late 2022 on the banks of the Seine, this hybrid space also includes a café-restaurant , a boutique, and an exhibition currently dedicated to the House's Art Deco heritage .
