Berluti, Dior, Guerlain, Louis Vuitton, La Samaritaine... Luxury group LVMH, a premium partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, announces this week an artistic program highlighting the relationship between its Houses and the world of sports. A journey in seven stages presented before, during, and/or after the competition.
"French Elegance in Motion" at Berluti
Starting from June 1st, the Italian House will collaborate with photographer, dancer, and choreographer Mathieu Forget for an immersive installation. The concept? Photos taken in iconic locations capturing the movements of athletes dressed in pieces from the House and sportswear. The art of movement, in all its forms.
From June 1st to September 9th, 2024
9 rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, Paris.
Dior, a journey on Avenue Montaigne
In mid-June, Maison Dior will dedicate part of its historic flagship on Avenue Montaigne to photographic series featuring its athlete ambassadors. Among the athletes representing the brand at the Paris 2024 Games are gymnast Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos, skateboarder Aurélien Giraud, wheelchair tennis champion Pauline Deroulède, and surfer Kauli Vaast.
From June 19th to September 9th, 2024
Galerie Dior, 11 rue François Ier, Paris.
Guerlain, "Gold Norm"
Starting from early June, Guerlain will offer a photographic exhibition dedicated to gold. Named "Gold Norm", it will showcase the works of sixteen artists: Carolle Benitah, Paul Cupido, Harald Gottschalk, the Graphset and Amandine Besacier duo, Morvarid K, Yves Klein, Enzo Lefort, Cédric Matet, Pedro Motta, Isabel Muñoz, Martin Parr, Pierre et Gilles, Georges Rousse, Rodolphe von Gombergh, Wiktoria Wojciechowska, and Sophie Zénon.
From June 6th to September 12th, 2024
Maison Guerlain, 68 avenue des Champs Élysées, Paris.
Louis Vuitton: Double Feature
For this Cultural Olympiad, Louis Vuitton will not offer just one but two initiatives. Launched last year, the exhibition "La Malle Courrier" now includes new creations related to the sports world. Designed by Kim Jones and Virgil Abloh, these pieces join exclusive items from the Maison's archives, including contributions from Georges Vuitton - son of the founder - to the Asnières fencing society, dating back to 1891.
From April 2nd to December 31st, 2024
Maison de Famille Louis Vuitton, 18 rue Louis Vuitton, Asnières sur Seine.
Starting from June 18th, Louis Vuitton will also adjust the itinerary of its LV DREAM cultural space by incorporating a selection of pieces evocative of the world of sports and illustrating how contemporary modes of transportation have influenced fashion trends.
From June 18th to December 31st, 2024
LV DREAM, 26 quai de la Mégisserie, Paris.
Three exhibitions at La Samaritaine
At the end of the month, the Parisian department store will unveil three simultaneous exhibitions. While "World Sporting Legends" will revisit the major sports events of the last 100 years with objects from Terence Darrigade's private collection, "Domestic Games, Women Under Pressure" will examine the role of sports in our daily lives and focus on the female condition in international competitions, curated by Camille Menard / Agnst Design. This selection will be complemented by a photo exhibition by Enzo Lefort, a member of the French fencing team and ambassador for Louis Vuitton and LVMH.
From April 30th to September 8th, 2024
La Samaritaine, 9 rue de la Monnaie, Paris.
"The Collection, Meeting with Sport," at the Louis Vuitton Foundation
As part of this Cultural Olympiad, the Louis Vuitton Foundation will also offer its own exhibition featuring the works of five artists: Abraham Poincheval, Andreas Gursky, Roman Signer, Omar Victor Diop, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Presented last year, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol's "Olympic Rings" will notably receive an extension. It's worth noting that the Louis Vuitton Foundation will also host the Olympic Flame's passage.
From May 7th to September 9th, 2024
Fondation Louis Vuitton, 8 avenue du Mahatma Gandhi, Paris.
