Tiffany congratulates LA Lakers on NBA championship win

Tiffany & Co has congratulated the Los Angeles Lakers on their victory at the Inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament, winning the NBA Cup. The inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament Championship Trophy and NBA In-Season Tournament MVP Trophy was designed by Tiffany in collaboration with artist Victor Solomon.

The cup, weighs approximately 35 lbs., and stands approximately 23 inches in height, representing the inaugural year of the In-Season Tournament. The 30 net openings on the trophy’s base represent the 30 total teams and three-tier base represents the three games that the champion must win in the In-Season Tournament Knockout Rounds.

The trophy was handcrafted at the Tiffany hollowware workshop in Cumberland, Rhode Island, and took approximately 21 weeks for a total of 152 hours of labor.

The NBA In-Season Tournament MVP Trophy weighs approximately 11.5 lbs. and stands approximately 15 inches in height, representing the 15 teams in each NBA conference.

Also handcrafted at the Tiffany hollowware workshop in Cumberland, Rhode Island, this trophy took over 88 hours of labor to make.
