Surrounded by the sparkle of champagne and models’ décolletages, which were peppered with diamonds layered upon white gold guilloché, I wandered out of the wine bar at the new Van Cleef & Arpels Boutique in Perth. With NSW and Victoria locations, the event marked the first Perth Boutique for Van Cleef & Arpels.

The bar, framed with velvet seats, was not just a feature of the opening event, but a permanent fixture in the new store — a first for the French High Jewellery Maison in Oceania. “Clients who are pursuing their next jewellery investment can do so with a glass of vino — of the French variety,” I was told. A curated collection of various vintages sat behind the marble bar fronted by a well dressed barman.
